What I learned from James Clear
James Clear spoke at my company this week. (If you haven’t read his book, Atomic Habits, read it.)
Atomic Habits sold 25m copies, so aside from tremendous content, Clear must be a world-class communicator.
While he spoke, I took notes.
Here are a few of my takeaways:
Start off by stating the value the listeners will receive: ‘By the end of this presentation, you will have a few immediately-applicable strategies.’
Whenever introducing a key phrase, repeat it: ‘The idea of the aggregation of marginal gains. The aggregation of marginal gains.’
Use phrases that present a contrast: ‘Be the architect of your habits, not the victim of them.’
More next week.
